In Autumn

The time for growing is running out!

So these little alfalfa sprouts better get to it. The sun is getting weaker and the temperatures are getting colder. (That root there adds a nice artistic element, don't you think?)

This Great Blue Heron might decide that winter is for the birds (so to speak) and head further south where climates are more temperate. Then again, he may just stick around and eat some voles in this pasture.

It's also time to get in the very last cutting of hay for baling and green-chopping, otherwise it might not recover.

The point is, change is coming. So everybody from birds to farmers to winter-wheat (pictured above) needs to make the most of these last days of fall. Not that they don't at other times.
May we all have luck doing the same. See you Monday!
